With the best will in the world it is not always possible to get outside to paint, on these occassions painting from reference material can be just as rewarding.

The Natural world.

Winter visitor Red Robin

Saw this little chap in the garden and felt the urge to paint him. SOLD

Waiting for the rain

This painting expresses the stress facing these magnificent animals as the dry season draws to a close. Painting the landscape early morning with the sun painting the landscape in vibrant yellows reds and orange. The mass of the Baobab tree defiantly stands against the heat of the savanna. I see it as a hopeful image. Original painting on canvas size 50cm x 70cm

Treasure not a trophy

This is an original oil on board painting measuring 20"x 16" unframed. This is my response to the sad loss of Cecil the lion. Feeling rather helpless and disappointed I felt that in producing this painting I could make a positive contribution to wildlife conservation by making a donating to the World wide fund for nature.

Mother and calf

My favorite big game animal Rhino look like they belong to another era. With poor eye sight sent is the primary sense, in this painting mother and calf have been alerted to the presence of the observer. This is an original oil painting on canvas size 16" x 12"

Trouble waiting to happen

So cheeky I just had to paint him

Old Elm

Sad to say not often seen in the landscape today
